Light Of The World Ministries

Non-Denominational Church Covenant

Having, by God's Grace, received Christ as my Lord and Savior and having been baptized, and being in agreement with Light of the World’s Statement of Faith, leadership structure, ministry strategies and pattern for church life, I now unite with and enter into covenant before God with this congregation of believers.

The Elements of our Covenant are:

1. I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH BY:

vLiving out the "one anothers" of scripture and acting in love towards other members 1 Peter 1:22  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

vRefusing to gossip or cause dissention Ephesians 4:29  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

vFollowing the leaders, submitting to the leadership of the Pastors in action and heart attitude. Hebrews 13:17  Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

vLiving a godly life  Philippians 1:27  ¶Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

2. I WILL SHOW PASSION FOR MY CHURCH BY:

vPraying for her regularly 1 Thessalonians 1:2  ¶We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

vAttending faithfully Hebrews 10:24  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

vInviting the unsaved to attend   Luke 14:23  And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

vWarmly welcoming those who visit, practice hospitality 1 Peter 4:9  Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

vBecome a discipler of others, sharing the gospel with those God puts in my life’s path   Matthew 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

vStudy the Word of God   Acts 2:42  ¶And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

3. I WILL SERVE THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH BY:

vDiscovering my gifts and talents and using them in service 1 Peter 4:10  As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

vBeing ready to serve Ephesians 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

vDeveloping a servant's heart Philippians 2:4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

vStaying connected to our spiritual community   Acts 2:46  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

vBearing the burdens of others   Galatians 6:2  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

vGiving sacrificially and joyfully 2 Corinthians 9:6  ¶But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
